✅ EB1A Self-Petition Journey — Approved After a Long Wait (Cross-Chargeability Case) • Category: EB1A (Self-Petition, Self-Filed I-140, EAD , AP and AOS) • Priority Date: September 2023 • Primary: India • Spouse: Rest of World (ROW Cross-Chargeability) Our case was transferred to the Dallas Field Office (FO) after being linked for cross-chargeability, and we attended our AOS interview in April 2024. Timeline Highlights: • Primary applicant’s EAD approved before interview, and AP approved after interview (corrected after a Congressman inquiry due to initial PD issue). • Dependent’s EAD and AP approved before interview since ROW was current. • The Dallas officer was very kind, and the interview went smoothly — no white paper issued. He mentioned it might take 3–4 months for a decision. However, by September 2025, after interview nearly six months of waiting for decision , our status changed to “cases paused - Visa not available” for both cases due to the ROW quota being exhausted at the end of the fiscal year. We did not raise any inquiries (Emma, SR, or Congressman) after that. But once the new quota opened in October 2025, the ROW numbers were refreshed, and our cases automatically moved forward. On October 17, 2025, we received the long-awaited case approval notices! 🎉 This journey has taught us that patience, faith, and perseverance truly pay off. To everyone still waiting hang in there. You can enter your receipt date and select the "Get Inquiry Date" box. The case status still showed “Case is Being Actively Reviewed,” so we couldn’t sleep! At 3 AM, while my wife slept, I checked the Documents tab on my.uscis.gov—and there it was, the approval notice! 🎉 This 22-month journey wasn’t easy, but your love, prayers, and moral support kept us strong. Can I check for biometrics appointment without getting the receipt notice?

Hello, I have a USCIS A number from a previous EAD card. So I already got access to the portal and I found out today that I have a biometric appointment scheduled. However, my wife does not have an A number and we have not received the receipt yet. The receipt was sent on October 6th I believe. is there a way for me to check if my wife has biometrics appointments set up as well? Or should I just wait for the receipt notice? We just may need to reschedule, that's why I'd like to figure out earlier if she has the appointment set up already. Another question: how difficult is it to reschedule the appointment?

Am I just unlucky? Seeing other August approvals vs my case got transferred to Nebraska and no news. Tired of waiting.
