If you start working with your EAD, you will lose you F-1 status. You will need to notify your school's international office about it and they will cancel your SEVIS record. Then in case your I-485 application is denied, you won’t have any backup status to stay in the country and continue studying

once you apply for adjustment of status , you are no longer a F1 student and I don’t think you need to notify your school because your school will automatically be notified! If by any chance God for bid your i485 is denied , you can never go back to being an F1 student . @Md Reazul Go ahead and work with your EAD cos you are no Longer an F1 student and your EAD is given to you to work anywhere at any time with unlimited hours . you are no longer restricted to 20hrs school job

@pepper yam what you are saying is not true. If you remain enrolled in full time program and don’t use your EAD/AP you do not loose your F-1 status and can remain a student even if I-485 gets denied. Many lawyers advice to stick to F-1 status until green card is approved to be on the safe side. And your school is not notified automatically, it is your responsibility to do so once you are no longer maintaining student status.

when my first time application was denied in the denial letter it was written like this- “the evidence of record shows that, when you filed your application, you were lawfully present in the United States as a nonimmigrant. your period od authorized stay as a nonimmigrant has not yet expired. you are authorized to remain in the US until that day. However, you must comply with all the conditions that apply to your nonimmigrant admission, including any prohibition against emgaging in employment that may apply to your nonimmigrant status
