was this your first rfe ever? and which exact good moral character did they request? and did you ever had prima facie determinations?

yes it’s my first RFE and had prima facie 4 times RFE was asking uscis not sure if I had any problems with law informing even I provided my New York State police clearance when I submitted my case I just submitted new one .

Did you submit an FBI background check? that’s what they need most on good moral character. police clearance is close to useless as it covers a county and less often a state. if you haven’t submitted an FBI background check, please do asap otherwise you’ll not get approved sooner.

but I filed i360/i485 same time and they had my fingerprints they check also ?

That’s your issue right there! If you’ve never submitted an FBI background check, they’ll keep sending you rfe or issuing an intent to deny your application. the FBI take all your fingerprints. USCIS take thumb and index. The FBI searches all your fingerprints in the identity database to make sure you’re not part of any criminal organization. If you don’t send that, I tell you, you’ll be stuck forever. they clearly write that on the list of documents they request for good moral character and the the most important one is the fbi background check

Yeah USCIS does not conduct background checks with your fingerprints. Police or FBI does. so when they keep asking you for evidence of gmc, they’re asking for the fbi background check basically. Do what you gotta do. Just helping through my experience

fluffy gates is right. even though uscis took all my fingerprints, my lawyer still sent my fingerprints separately to the FBI and the report was sent to the uscis

hello Fluffy, the FBI background check, is it the same as the Identity History Summary? am trying to get one too, am on the FBI website about to fill out the form to request it electronically.. but i think i will have to go to the post office to do my prints.., but they call it Identity History Summary ... is it the same?? please confirm. thank you!

@Leo Lance. Yes that’s the same thing. The post office may not accept if you do not have a US ID. But at the fbi website, they can tell you where to go exactly depending on your zip code. There are some agencies who do that as well and it’s all on the fbi website. and make sure you just download the forms for the fingerprints. some don’t provide.

Hey Fluffy, thank you for the info. Yes, I have a US state ID, so that should be fine. i just need to bring the ID and the email confirmation that the FBI sent it to me via email which contains the order number etc. I have opted for an electronic one, so everything will be via email. it's so much effecient now. It gives you all the instructions, and I do not need an appointment for postal office, i can walk in as long I have the ID and the email conf. i called them to check. it's $50 and i paid $18 to the FBI

in fact, the FBI website says, if you're not a US citizen or green card holder, you cannot use a third party (channelier). You have to go via their website yourself and select a participating postal office for print collection. I have also opted to receive an original copy via the postal mail.

@Leo lance. There’s a download on fbi website for the document used to add your fingerprints. but I’m sure wherever you’ll go for the fingerprints, they already have the model available
