can you pls share your experiences about the vawa approval? from beginning to end

my case is a little complicated because I am in removal proceedings but here is my timeliness. 2017 June: I filed for for I-360 (Bank Statements, apartment lease, personal statement, psychological evaluation, witness letters, pictures, tax return) 2018 October: RFE Bona-fide Marriage and Good Moral Character (Sent bona-fide Marriage letter, joint tax return, Copies of driver's license, FBI state fingerprints, bank statements, witness letters) 2019 January: USCIS received RFE 2019 March: Case Approved I did everything myself. No lawyer because I was broke. Looking back it was not a complicated process to do but the waiting with no updates was hard.

Thank you! I'm a man. I almost gave up because people were telling me it was almost impossible for a man to be approved without a police report. But I really tried to explain everything in the personal letter and I think that is what really helped me.

why were you asked to prove bona-fide marriage twice even after you submitted all those documents the first time

I was in removal proceedings so the requirements for evidence was higher. Also I needed to send a special bona-fide marriage exemption letter to prove that I qualified for VAWA since I was in removal proceedings. I sent the letter and more evidence. Initially I was too scared to send all my evidence because it was a lot but when they asked for RFE, I sent all the evidence that I had. Almost 200 pages.
