USCIS RUNNING CREDIT CHECKS
Just wanted to share this post I saw on a group am apart of on FB.
***Hello. I was checking my credit history from three credit companies out of curiosity and saw that USCIS did a soft inquiry in april 2020. What does it mean? It’s been 12 months since my interview and nothing.
Also anyone been in same situation months after interview but nothing? What should i do? Give me ideas.***"
Not sure if they do for everyone as part of background check.

Sometimes soft inquiry could also mean to verify identity, the new public discharge rule might ask for report but may not run directly ( not sure) but I have seen two soft inquires last year and I believe that was for my EAD.

It means that that's exactly why no one should ever lie on their application about stuff. For that soft inquiry may reveal places of residence (and if you claim to be married, and there is a mismatch, then good faith marriage pfffft). It shows employment history too. If you are seeking for an employment based benefit, and you lie about your previous employment, pffffffft.
