Don't risk it until you have your GC.

if you granted you asylum case then you used Traval document I -131 .. but is not good if you asylum is pending and no any decision..

you can go any country but not going back your home country ..

while your asylum case is pending, you can request form I-131, I believe. but there's no guarantee that when you come back you'll be allowed re-entry as the decision to let you in always rests in the hands of the officers at the customs regardless of whether you have the right documents or not. so, it's safer to stay in the country until your asylum case is adjudicated. this is the sacrifice to make, or forfeit your asylum case by traveling outside the country for any reason. and traveling to the country you're claiming asylum against will also nulify you application, or your asylum after it's been granted. I hope this helps. also, check with an immigration lawyer. they have better advices than we do. :-)

Samar, yes, if asylum is granted you can travel outside the US with travel documents. at that point, you will never be able to use the passport of the country that you filed asylum against. but like A said, it is even better when you have at least your green card. and the only time you can travel to your home country again, if ever, is when you have US citizenship. you can request permission from USCIS while asylum is pending, to travel outside the country. but that is only for extreme cases (vacations and weddings are not extreme cases.). but as some of us said, don't risk it until the asylum was granted or better, you have your GC. :-)

thank you 😊 but some country need home country passport for visa they said this thi re entry permit so we give you visa you nationality passport .. like Saudia Arabia behrain Dubai …some country give free visa .. last time I will go Saudia consulate for tourist visa with my family and I apply with my refugee Traval document they said this is re entry permit we give you visa with your nationality passport and the passport six month valid.. I told her my green card is process and I have this passport they said this is document just permission but we give you visa your nationality passport.. so I’m waiting my passport for renew bcoz my nationality passport expire

my asylum granted 2018 still I’m waiting my AOS .. I receive letter for usics July 2021 .. they reuse my fingerprint and I don’t need again biometric

samar qureshi don't believe on Arabs my advise to u especially never fly on Arabs country with ur home country pasport they fckn uneducated on that & send u to ur home country always use travel document rather u ll get ur green card pasport renewl is not gud idea now Gud luck for ur GC.

ohh my god I don’t know why Saudia consulate told me like this … I told her my greencard process but they still said need nationality passport

its no need to worry if u renew it relax but go to arab countries its completely risk recently month ago i ll visit to whole Europe they ll totally fine but don't trust on Arabs country especially with ur status

always use travel document approved from uscis.my time frame is same like u approved on 2018 still waiting for GC.inshallah gud news soon for every 1.

my home country is Pakistan .. when I apply for renew my passport .Pakistan consulate send my application for verification still I’m waiting i told why is late they said bcoz your status is change .. anyway I trust my Allah and Allah give better for me InshaAllah
