Traveling to Virgin Islands on H1 while waiting on spousal gc and travel parole
hi,
can someone please help me understand if I can travel to Virgin Islands and come back to the US? I am on a h1b (visa stamping pending) and am waiting for my spousal gc processing to start. we submitted the documentation for the green card in September of 2021 and have only received an acknowledgment from USCIS. will this affect the gc process?

not sure about virgin islands but anywhere outside the US, you will need AP

is it the US Virgin Islands or the British Virgin Islands?
if it’s the US Virgin Islands it’s considered domestic

The virgin Islands is a US territory and not a state if, you live without and AP you will not be allowed back in the United States.

@so so, that’s not correct. you can travel to a US territory like US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico without AP, as long as you don’t have a layover outside of the US. It would have to be a direct flight

Lo Seaf is correct!! As long as your flight do not layover outside of US. You don't need AP. But I would not take the risk as much flights are being canceled. Enjoy US, go to Montana, Alaska, Arizona, Florida. Don't risk yourself for a few days.

@Adhor did you visit the U.S. Virgin Islands? I don't have the GC yet, but I have the us driving license and Advanced parol.
