travel abroad
hi, I would like to ask if anyone have had the experience to travel abroad with advance parole. my situation is the following. I previously had self deportation back in 2015 in 2023 my motion to reopen was granted. My vawa was approved back in March 2025 which my lawyer filled back in Jan 2022 I have 4 different EAD cards one based on 765 for Vawa another one just a regular I-765, one base on Vawa then the last one based on I-485 which was filled in May 2024 case still pending. I was wondering if its smart to travel with advance parole since I have had previous deportation order it was dismissed but I am not sure or if I should wait for any updates regarding my I-485 instead of risking it all. thanks in advance!

with this administration going after legal aliens too i would wait until after you get your greencard to travel. just because you have an approved vawa doesn’t gurantee re-entry even the advance parole says that and especially since you’ve been in removal before. But that’s just my opinion.

In your situation, I advise you not to travel just wait til you get your green card.Rest always discuss with your attorney they can provide you a better advice.

I wouldn't travel either. They're even holding onto GC holders with a criminal past or any kind of negative immigration outcome. Stay put!

@Lily S There is a chance where if you travel you might self deport yourself again...

@Kerry S thank you for your advice and yes thats right even the smallest thing can change the outcome when trying to re-entry.

@S S I didn't think of that but you are correct they will take advantage of the situation and just deny reentry.
