Transfer to another Service Center
Hi Everyone,
I really need your help.
I am US Citizen applied for my wife who is aboard. I applied for I-130 on August 05, 2021 and it is at Vermont Service Center whose Processing time between 23.5 to 30 months which is basically more than 2 years. That is too much for us.
Is there anyway to transfer the case to another service center?
If yes than, how?
I would like to transfer my case to Nebraska Service Center because it closer to me and has less workload.
Thank you so much for taking your precious time and helping us.

You cannot request for your case to be transferred. That action is solely at the discretion of the USCIS. What you can do is contact your congressman or congresswoman for help, service requests and finally you can sue if the case is taking too long

If everyone can change their center , believe me everyone will go to nebraska service center 😅

If you are an American citizen… you should have just got your wife here on a tourist visa… and did a change in status for green card. I was in states for a visit, we got married here and right away my husband just applied for change in status. I got my green card in 5-6 months but that entire time I was able to stay because I was under processing status

Getting Tourist visa is almost impossible from India. She is in India and never been outside of India.

oh crazy, i guess that’s due to the overstays? Some people wreck it for the rest. so sorry man

Congress won’t help if the case is within the processing time.

I can request them. lets see if it can make any difference

I am beginning to notice that if uscis doesn't want to approve your case, they send to California because California is where they dump anything they are not ready to deal with. it is just something that I think is happening. it is very difficult to hear someone was approved from California.

Mine is at Vermont Service Center and I haven't seen alot of it approved.

mine is at texas service center. it was submitted March 31st 2021. August 31 2021, it changed to 'actively been reviewed ". I have my finger crossed.

Good Luck. Once it is being reviewed then I will take less then 2 week to get the mail.

I asked uscis about cases being transferred to another service center and this is what they wrote me.
Thank you for your inquiry dated September 10, 2021.
Regarding the status of your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative.
When necessary, USCIS will transfer cases between our five service centers in order to balance our workload and promote timely processing. For up to date information on any workload transfers that we make, you can visit our Workload Transfer Updates webpage on our website.

Thats what they told me but there is nothing we can do about long processing that bothers me.
sehwon TokpahSep 22, 2021
what I have noticed, there is nothing you can do but pray and wait. even those processing times are not stable. I am sure it is done to give them time without been questioned or bothered. that way they can easily say ,look at the processing time. your time is not up. If they know that the time is coming up they go and increase the processing time on the website.
