RFE for medical exam
Does receiving the pink RFE for the medical exam results mean that the GC interview has been waived?

it’s a possibility

It depends on your GC category. Very likely if it is EB 1

hi if the letter says submit this Medical RFE for a final decision on your case then it will be waived. if it didn’t say so then you’ll be waiting for an interview with uscis

Well@Oksana... my letter said ‘for a final decision to be made’. But it is 7 months now I responded to the medical rfe but no decision yet. These things take some time I think

@Waiting Dude, is your case employment based? I had the same thing said in my RFE. Also, when I submitted my response in the status update description it says 'we will send you a decision or notify you if something else is needed'. So I thought maybe that implies the interview is waived
oksana oDec 7, 2020
yes then your interview is waived. you’ll just have to wait your turn for your green card approval. if you also haven’t done biometrics that could be delaying your case. plus these officers have millions of cases to look through. so yeah you might wait a couple months for a decision. as you are probably still under normal processing time

good! I have already completed the biometrics. so I guess I just have to wait for the decision now

@behrooz yes my case is EB1b
Verty MDec 8, 2020
@Behrooz No. If your case is based on employment then I will say 60% of chance that you will not have the interview. usually when uscis say final decision it doesn’t mean that they are going to waive your interview most of the time the final decision will be about the officer handling your case at the Chicago office if he or she can send your case at your local office. when the uscis waived an interview they will asked you to send them the medical exam at the address on the RFE.

@Verty of course USCIS said that I send it straight to them by mail and I did. I guess that was the same order that Behrooz got.

same with my medical RFE . it said for final decision. I sent it to Arkansas location. it’s not my field office . I am in New York. and my interview was waived. parents petition
