@m&m s Massachusetts, they did not accept it at the first and they did save check which is sending your application to Uscis and it's take around 10 business days and after that they will approve your Real ID

what do you mean by Real ID under Vawa category? The Real ID is your normal drivers license or State ID but comes with a Star at the extreme left upper corner of the ID indicating you have been screen federally to give you access into Federal building and also fly. It’s a more wider synchronized identification and can be gotten with an EAD card and your original approval notice letter of your EAD, I-797 notice of action. I live in a red state and got my Real Driver license ID with that. It is not a separate ID like most assume rather it’s the same drivers license or state ID but it’s called Real ID because it comes with a star to indicate like I said it has a federal synchronized access nation wide. It has nothing to do with the category of your benefit. Lastly bear in mind, most of these staff at the DMV where you get your drivers or state license do not know what you might be talking about when you say Real ID and might get confused . But be rest assured that if you walk in there to apply for a drivers or state ID what you will be issued is the Synchronized Real ID version of the driver license or state ID that comes with the Star.

No, NY said they need approval notice from USCIS

@m&m s I never had a real ID when I worked in NY, VA. But when I moved to NV and applied for license state transfer, they requested a copy of the I-485 receipt, previous state license and EAD copy which was valid for 5 years and they issued NV license for that same period with real ID. No other requirements. Better to move NV because it’s easy here

@m&m s Seems you are waiting for a very very long time for the VAWA approval. Even I am in your same boat. My first filed VAWA in 2018 got denied in 2023 after a long wait and had to refile in 2023 and waiting till date. it’s so horrific to the core. Hope a miracle for me .

@M W That’s true! I tried to get real id 5 years back in New York and there was lot of requirement especially they need I-485 approved or Vawa approved. It’s better to live out of New York, get real ID and then come back then come back .Since these days EAD is 5 years so we can get a real id based on that state driving license and the. return back to NY
