Question about SSN
I’m waiting for my EAD card to be arrived ( which is just approved on 2.22.2022).
I don’t have SSN, so I want to apply one, can I apply through online? I heard walk in service is not available these days.
Is there anyone who recently applied for SSN?
How’s the process going to be?

once I got my Ead I called the ss office and they made an appointment for me. I got my SSN 7 days later after I went to the appointment

did u ask Uscis to apply for ssn on ur behalf wen u where filling..if u did it comes with the card if u don’t just call ssn office and they will get u one

@skye I went through this yesterday, waited three hrs on hold with main SS office number and all they said was phone your local office and they gave me the number. 15
mins on hold for them and they were able to book apts in the next ten days.

@Skype once you apply when you are filling I-765 they will send it you after you received EAD, my own SSN is 4days after I received my EAD.

you’ll have to wait till you you get the card in hand then you make an appointment over the because without the number on your ead you won’t get an appointment

@sham oguns: When I apply I-765 I just marked as “I have never received SSN” is this means Social security office will send a SSN automatically after EAD card?

@Skye, yes once USCIS approved your I-765 they will alert the Social Social security office, atleast by 7days after If you don't receive your SSN CARD, you call SS office. Thanks
