If you're still in the probation period, then yes it'll affect your chances. If you've completed the probation time then there's a chance for you to still be approved for citizenship. However it depends on the type of offense/crime you did.

It was a theift by swindle case in which I paid the money back an got it dismissed in which I got unsupervised probation

USCIS will evaluate your good moral of character. Make sure you disclose any and all previous convictions on your N-400 form, even if your original criminal case was dismissed.
