unfortunately you one of the cases who got hit in a backlog from 2023….couple of iptions for you: 1.Contact your congressman and they can inquiry about your case. They can’t push it, but since it’s been more than 15 months(official USCIS) you can try. 2.Call USCIS or txt emma and say that your case is outside of normal processing time(15montha) and that you want to inquiry about it. 3.youcan try to expedite if you have some medical/emergency situations for you or your family members here or anywhere in the workd. 4.Mandamus. probably the most efficient way, but you need to try normal options first to qualify for mandamus and it cost 2-5g so… good luck!

also, sometimes when you Order FOIA ,since they grab your case they can send it for adjudication!

@Mm Mm what was your RFE for? my was for criminal record but I don’t have any. I sent all the info back but it doesn’t show in the system like they received it.

I sent my application in Nov. 20, 2023 my case is stock in Request for evidence

@Evita B nothin happened…the way USCIS works is, when they change policies they start them with new cases…thi is why in 2nd half of 2024 ppl woukd get approvals in 4-9 months…no some people get in 2-3 months…everyone else just sitting on the table somewhere…the same like with FIFO or LIFO for asylum..

@Oliver Farm check the first comment by me. unfortunately there is none rhat can provide you 100% results…. mandamus probably is the only one that can gaurantee some results…. solution is to try everything and hope that they will take a look at it….USCIS officer are overworked and overwhelmed with huge backlog of cases and ever changin policies….

I also applied in September 2023 last update they requested my criminal record which I don’t have any I sent it in January and that’s it tried everything congressman and other inquiries nothing help

@i l you mentioned that uscis made changes to policies in 2024? when exactly this happened ? I haven’t found anything about it online. i applied onc26 july 2024, am I too in the backlog?

@kate xaame there is no yes/no answer. just look around…people who apply in 2025 getting processed already….uscis prioritisy new cases! are u in backlog? idk it’s been not even 1 year for you. GC based on asylum usually take 9-15 months, so hopefully you will get it soon

@i l yeah average time for i485 based on asylum is 10.2 months for the past 2025 fiscal year. I just though maybe they changed again something 😄.
