L2 EAD waiting - forced to go to VACATION (!) from today
I have been forced to go unpaid from today because USCIS is not capable to do their job within the normal processing time. How illogical! When it's your responsibility, a temporary resolution like allowing to work temporarily until you give a response is a nobrainer humanly measure. By the way, I'm enjoying the forced unaid VACATION.. When a door closes, a better one opens. It's just hard to accept, this illogical inhumanly situation is happening in US not a 3rd world country.

enjoy the time, I know you might have been under stress. hopefully you will get your ead soon

Thanks @Raha. I hope, someday congress will imporve the whole immigration system. Especially the illogical work gap happening with thousands of H-4 and L-2, requires an urgent resolution.

me too. unpaid leave as of today. ridiculous. I’m ok if it’s just a few weeks but not if it’s MONTHS ☹️

Best of LUCK @chloe 🤞

4.4 Automatic Extensions of Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) in Certain Circumstances

What do you mean @Nina?
chloe mOct 1, 2021
some categories of EAD are eligible for automatic 180 day extension. however not L2 or E1/2 sadly
M AmdOct 1, 2021
Right, A18 is not eligible for 180 days automatic extension which I believe SHOULD be. EVERY JOB IS IMPORTANT. If not, that's not a job 😅. Unfortunately, our policy makers lacks that rational understanding.

lucky you, guys, for having unpaid - appreciate it, it's great being secured with job. I just lost my job because of this ead situation...
M AmdOct 27, 2021
@Kate I'm sorry to hear that. Fortunately, my company gave me three months notice, they said if I can't show within this time, they will fire me. I did nothing wrong - applied for my extension on time and I was forced to go unpaid leave just because USCIS was incapable to process. Logically, it doesn't make sense. I should have a temporary resolution like working on receipt etc. during the waiting period.
Unfortunately, I lost my income and even my company gave me notice to fire - it's unreasonable and stressful you know. Of course, I'm thankful that my company was kind to me. But only victims like us understand our situations. Even our employers don't truly understand our situations - sort of I was passively told it's your responsibility to show EAD even though it's not at my hand and I did nothing wrong!
Long story short - I hope the situation would be better if USCIS handle the situation little more logical way - Like I said to allow working on receipt, automate paper works, allow premium processing to those who are currently employed or have an offer etc.
Please, keep patience and do your best. I hope you would get your EAD soon and hopefully will find a better job 🤞

Totally agree and feeling the same:( being tax payer and losing half of family income without having any way to change this... I have seen in news articles that some guys have filed a group lawsuit for each l2 cases. Hopefully this can fix something at least for future cases like us 🤞
