What is the new I94 rule? My L1 was approved in country but I94 denied, stating I had to leave country to activate L1 again. My concern is I leave and my 485 is abandoned - so in a bit of limbo.

hmm my husband is also in L1. You should get a new i-94 date from the approval papers you received from USCIS. if you have a valid L1 visa think you’re i-485 will not be abandoned. best to seek advise from you company’s lawyer

the new i-94 rule applies to L2 (spouses of L1) that once they have the “spouse” annotation on their i-94s, that will serve as evidence for work authorization. and EAD application will not be necessary anymore
