I am a Jamaican in Florida. My cousins use the Consulate Office in Miami. Think it took them around 3 months to get it back.

thanks for the response 👍

why not apply directly to the Jamaican office?
Ms Optimistic SeattleDec 26, 2020
You can’t apply directly to the office if you are in the states, have to go through the one of the embassies or consulates here but been hearing that they even lose ppl passport in the mail. Also the turn around time to get it back is roughly 3 months. My thing is my passport expires March 2021 and am waiting on biometrics, don’t want to not have my passport when my appointment do get scheduled. The office in Jamaica now have a online service to renew your passport but it doesn’t allow you to update your married name. Am thinking about using the service and keep my maiden name and when I do get a chance to go back to Jamaica I updated it.

That wouldn’t be a bad idea. my passport was going to expire and I travel to Jamaica the week before it expired and did the express service. I was issued a I-751 notice which I traveled on

I am trying to get my AP expedited and that would have been the plan but no luck with that so far so am thinking of other methods right now.

I have applied to remove condition from my green card since January 2019 and my status has been saying “Schedule for interview since June 2019. I had to go in to USCIS to get a infopass stamped in my passport few weeks ago so I can travel if I need to

My issue is just the biometrics because they are saying they can’t help until I have my bio taken so I was like help me schedule it then, lol... My husband is military and not even that didn’t make them anymore helpful.
RJ RJDec 26, 2020
wow that is crazy. where are you located
Ms Optimistic SeattleDec 26, 2020
Seattle, office is really slow and I heard even before COVID that’s how they have been, backlog is up to 2 years, make it worst I can’t move because of my husband job and I can’t work, start school nothing because of the lack of my EAD

You can still use your passport to do your biometrics as long as the Visa part is not expired. The passport may be expired but the Visa part is not. Then, you can use the Miami Consulate to renew it after if you would like. If you already have a state ID and your marriage license you can do Biometrics
