interview under F2b category
Hi all. my mother(she is a citizen now) filed for my immigration and my interview is stated as ready for being scheduled. I came to the US on a tourist visa and then changed my status to student visa. i wanted to ask what all documents should I take? would it be necessary for my mother to be present as well? also what kind of questions would they ask?

I’m in the F2B category and went by myself to my interview. You only need your parent if you are a minor. Your I-130 is already approved right? When you get your interview date in the mail they will give you a list of documents to bring. Bring originals and copies in case officer wants to keep copies. In my interview the IO only asked to see my original birth certificate and that’s all. They can ask you questions about your mom, your previous address histories, etc. Parent to child petitions aren’t scrutinized too heavily like marriage ones. They will also go over the Y/N questions in the inadmissability section. So go over your I-485 form to prepare

Np! Also if your birth certificate is in a foreign language, remember to get certified translated english copies.

thanks. If I submitted a whole list of documents with my application, I shouldnt assume that they wont be asked again. right? i am thinking of compiling a similar package that I sent for 485.

yeah they have everything you sent already. I just took a whole binder of originals and their copies (again) bc I’m super anxious haha. But they only asked to see my original birth certificate LOL

Hi @waitfor long, sorry I asked you a question under your other post, so it seems you are in the USA. I really need your guidance, because I hear that if you are in an immigration case you can't come to the USA as a tourist or as a student? Could you please tell me is it right? if not, is it possible to apply for a visitor visa or student visa? while our parents applied for our green card and they live in the USA? Thanks

@JJ JJ : Thanks for the information. May I know which Field office you had an interview? Assuming you haven't received Green Card due to Final action date is not moved since
