did you receive the denial letter? they should tell you the reason of the denial

I did, I received the denial letter with the reason. But I’m surprised my case now updated to Initial Review on their site after the denial.

what was the reason and which service center was it?

Maybe your lawyer submitted a new application on your behalf.

I’m thinking the case was reopened again…sometimes it’s done cos no lawyer should submit any application without their clients approval.

Which year was the case and what’s the service center? Did you get prima facie prior to the denial @ uche

@gaff. it was about good faith marriage. I submitted all that, looks like the office in charge of my case was on a hurry to deny me without looking at my case properly

@davidson. no my lawyer did not submit anything. she was asking me the same if I submitted any document, and I said no.

@gaff my lawyer said the same that she thinks the case is reopened. we’re hoping they become clearer with their messages. On August, my I-485 got updated by applying the biometrics I did 2 years ago.

I don’t know what’s happening in there. My case is pending and the last update says: Correspondence was received and USCIS is reviewing it. I ask my lawyer, she said she didn’t send anything, then she asked me the same. this is messed up.

i filed on November 19th, 2019. Status: Case was received. and on May 11th, 2020: Correspondence was received. My case was under initial review. (7 months apart)

my advice is don’t appeal. my appeal decision since 2019 just came out yesterday and they echoed same denial reasons with USCIS. now I have to refile again so don’t even waste your time when that time comes. it’s a waste of 2yrs plus that u can never get back

no updates about the old case. I filed a new i360 around Oct, 2021. it got approved in august, 2022. I got my approval notice and new c31 card.

congrats @out Lander. Did they call you for an interview or was it waived?

I’m still waiting for the i485. nothing yet on that. only VAWA got approved for now!

@Out Lander. Did you submit a new i360 after denial Or uscis mistakenly denied first and then itself re-opened the same i360 case? Could u plz update.

@VA I submitted a new i360 in Oct, 2021. The new i360 got approved on Sept 2022. As it stands, USCIS has closed all my previous I-485, just the new I-485 is open. As for the old I-360, there is no update since then on it.
