you don’t need and EAD anymore. still ask a lawyer since you’re already in the country, but the new E2 visas come with q little code that means you can immediately work without an EAD

@S B: that’s what I thought. I feel the word „automatic“ is so misleading. It’s only automatic if you applied for the extension before the old one expires and many people don’t seem to know this.

ok i will try to explain i asked my lawyer we sent all the documents to California center before ead expired now the ead is going to be renewal automatically because i94 is unexpired so you need to apply in your service center to renewal when you do that and if you have i94 unexpired then your ead is going to be renewal automatically for 540 days

basically they mail you a notice or you can ask for it and that together with the i94 is status to work. no permit required

@sete sete to be 100% sure maybe try to get a call with a lawyer. there’s a lot of them here at lawfully

the renewal part is for people either didn’t get the letter about the E2/L2 spouse annotation yet or who don’t have the updated stamp yet. They apparently started sending those letters in April but not everyone might have it yet or can exit and enter the country (that’s what I did back in February to get my L2 status updated).
