I need some insights, My interview was scheduled for Oct, 19 at 7:30 am but the problem is we are moving before that date like the 15th of Oct. Should I submit my change address after my interview?

I had earlier responded to you on your earlier post. I sympathize with you and I know we are here to help each other. The USCIS system could be frustrating. I may not be able to give you a solid professional advice because I am not a professional but I did talk at length to an attorney about this issue. And I will share more with about what I learnt. The implication of you not informing USCIS about your address change is that: your interviewer may start asking you questions about your street, bedroom, living room, etc (features of where you live). And you guys may start describing your old address since you don’t want them to know you moved without informing them. In the interview process, you and your spouse may contradict each other about the features of where you live since your old place cannot be 100% exactly as your new place. And the contradiction may lead to further questioning. If you are so lucky to meet a very nice interviewer, the interview may be so friendly and no deep questions asked. And you guys get approved on the spot without disclosing that you recently moved, the likely problem is that your green card is gona to be sent to your old address. And you will need to retrieve it from your old address. God forbid, if for any reason you were not approved on the spot or within two weeks of waiting, you may be tempted to inform USCIS of your change of address, the implication of that is that you then have to lie about the date you moved since you didn’t notify USCIS either before your interview or at your interview. The few lawyers I have spoken with advised that one should not lie about anything

if you are moving to a different apartment within the same field office, then I do not see any problem with updating your address and make sure you and your spouse are on the same page about that, but if you are moving to a different address which is out of state or outside of the field office jursdication, I would recomand updating your address within 10 days.

it seems M b is moving to a new state or a new field office, the situation is a little complicated. @Adam T; if someone is moving to a new apartment within the same field office, that does not affect the interview in any way because the USCIS field office will have jurisdiction over both the old and the new addresses. The problem comes up when the filed office changes. And M b should note that enquiry about one’s address is a standard question at interview. The interviewer will usually ask: have you moved in the last ten days? If one lies, the interview will proceed. If one says the truth, the officer has a discretion to cancel the interview immediately and begin the transferring of one’s file to the new address.

O David, Thank you very much for sharing good Infos and your thoughts I appreciate it! My old address is addressed in my in-law’s house. We have decided to move after the interview like a week after the interview. I think if we inform the officer in our interview day that we are moving at the end of the month won't be a problem anymore, even if after I change my address suddenly USPS delivers my GC wrongly to my old address, cuz my in-laws can still send the card to us.
