I-751 Divorce Waiver - What Evidence Is Most Helpful?
Hi all, I'm filing my I-751 with a divorce waiver and have a few quick questions: • Should I include relationship evidence from the beginning of the marriage, or just from after we filed the I-751? • Do affidavits need to be notarized? Some of my supporters can't do that. • Can affidavits come from people abroad? • Should I include screenshots of messages or call logs (e.g. "I'm coming home," "Do you need anything from the store?")? • Should I leave my ex's name in the contact, or show the phone number in the screenshots? I appreciate any tips from people who have done this before! #i751 #I-751 #I751 #divorcepending #immigrationhelp #greencard #uscis

they’ll be more focused on your relationship after conditional GC but still include very major things like travel, bills, lease etc from before as well. you can include any memberships like costco/sams/ car wash insurance you can also request call logs from your mobile provider with only calls made to and received from your spouse’s number

also include a letter to the USCIS Officer telling everything about why it didn’t work and youd divorce decree as well of course

@emillia j thank you for your response. my marriage went downhill for the last one and a half year -after jointly filing I 751. he was kinda person wants everything separate even when things were great. so I am gonna rely on 10 people who witnessed our marriage closely and are willing to write affidavits. they are very busy and have young children and not gonna do notary process? is it necessary? I will also include pictures , tickets, Airbnbs, jointly filled taxes when things were going well-before filing i751 but I don’t have much shared things except the last lease agreement with him since we filed I 751. I just moved to a new house and filed for divorce.. he is already in a new relationship

good for him! you can submit all that you have - pictures, trips, lease, taxes, any texts maybe! affidavits are helpful but you may not need 10. 3-5 ahould be enough and it’ll great if those qre notarized. any proof of why the marriage ended or how things were not working will be very helpful as well! you’ll be fine 🙏

@emillia j thank you! how about if I can’t get them notarized? would that be an issue?
emillia jJul 31, 2025
i don’t think they’ll mean much without being notarized

@emillia j If a letter of support is notarized abroad, scanned, and printed out, do you think that would be acceptable for a U.S. immigration application? Since mailing the original with a wet signature might take too long, I wonder if a high-quality scanned copy would be enough.

if it was written by someone abroad then it should be fine
