Take a lawyer quickly.… My friend has been f1 from 2014-2017. 5 years no status.. he got the green card. didn’t say nothing to him but his lawyer told him that whatever you going through might also have happened to him. GET A LAWYER ASAP

can you post your timeline here? how far along are you into the process before they denied it? did you ever get EAD?

I thought spouses of US citizens are forgiven of any overstay?

hmm from the notice you provided, it seems to be that they tagged you as preference (meaning, possibly that they viewed the petitioner as LPR instead of citizen). just per research, spouses of us citizens are exempt from “preference”. maybe you were not able to provide proof of citizenship (BC or Naturalization Cert) or spouse was LPR at time of filing?

@johnny depp - do you remember the date your wife became a citizen? did that happen before you filed for adjustment or after ?

@johnny depp - It says you applied on preference basis which means your wife might have been a permanent resident at the time of filing

I agree with kk brush it off and refile sorry to see you invested so much time and it comes to this anyway you must refile asap again this is what put me in removal 15 years ago overstayed my ex-husband wasn't a citizen at the time and I didn't show up for immigration court cause I didn't know don't let that happen to you file asap before it get to that believe me you don't wanna end up in that mess like me having to clean all this up before I can get my green card that's alot of money
