I applied for my green card and it’s been 13 months I still haven’t received it or a decision about it and am getting frustrated cause I wanna use it to travel

If your i485 is based on grant of Asylum , it takes way longer than marriage based and other categories. And which center is processing your case ?

you can still travel with a travel document (i131)…

I want to travel to Africa and finding a direct flight is so difficult and the center processing my case is Nebraska

Assuming you already have the Travel Documnet
Things you need to check (you may already know)
Country you’re planning to visit:
1. Should not be the country you’re seeking asylum from.
2. should accept your travel document and gives you visa if needed.( countries like Mexico and Germany don’t ask for visa for US travel document holders , you can get visa on arrival )
3.Sometimes(very unique) you can’t travel to neighboring country you’re seeking asylum from(Example Indian asylee seekers can’t go to Nepal )
