I-400 55/15 rule
Hello everybody. Can somebody help with me with information. I applied I-400 for my mother in law. She is 70 years old and and she had her 15 years green card anniversary December 20,2021 but we applied her I-400 in November. Does she allowed to do her texts in Spanish if we applied a month before her 15 years green card anniversary? thank you

Hi
USCIS states
“Even if you qualify for the "50/20" or
"55/15" English language exceptions listed above, you must still take the civics test.
You will be permitted to take the civics test in your native language.
If you take the test in your native language, you must bring an interpreter with you toyour interview.”
That being said … yes she can take the civic test in her native language you just have to have a professional interpreter.

@bessie z thank you for your answer. But we applied your application when she had her green card for 14 years and 10 months, not 15 years . Will it be a problem for getting test in Spanish?

To my knowledge you can apply up to 90 days before meeting the year.
(For Green Card applications I hope that is the same case for all forms)
Officer will give test in English so you have to have a interpreter with you (official one) so they can translate between office & your mother-in-law.
Hope this helps
