I-290B motion to reopen case I-485 through marriage
Hey everyone want to share my experience and hopefully I will find some experiences or thoughts, I will try to be short because my case has been a whole nightmare.
May 2018 ——applied for Green card through marriage
jume 2018 ——biometric and fingerprints appointment
October 2018—— I got my combo card ( EAD, advance parole and SSN)
August 2019—— I got a interview appointment
September 2019—— USCIS cancel my appointment
October 2019—— I had to renew my EAD
December 2019—— USCIS denied my case they said we didn’t show up to the interview ( they cancelled on September and we never got a re schedule appointment)
January 2020—— I applied for I-290 B motion to reopen my case
August 2020—— USCIS approved and they re open my case
September 2020—— waiting for them
any thoughts about when I’m gonna get my interview?? I’m losing hope it’s gonna be 2 years in this nightmare anybody here has been in the same situation?

it’s been almost a year since I posted about my process… to give you an update USCIS never answer my I-290b so this happened after that.
1. I found a lawyer and she recommended to apply from scratch wich was painful in terms of money and time but I did it anyways. I follow her advice that was on September 2020.
2. I had to pay again everything USCIS fees and attorneys fees I didn’t care and did my last try I put my whole savings into that. I applied again and 2 weeks I got the normal letter of case received but this time they told me that they would use my previous biométrics so I skip that part.
3. October 2020 I got an non official letter from USCIS, I said a non official because that letter literally looks a copy from a old printer with no logos no info non professional. that letter was very shady for me ( they said to appear to
the immigration building with my passport and alone) when I see the word “alone” I shocked, bc I was adjusting my status through marriage. I told
my lawyer and she told me no matter what don go alone and if they don’t allow your spouse to enter call me and I will do video call representation.
4. a week before of my interview an officer of USCIS called me ( I was confused this system and USCIS don’t call one aleast from my experience) I thought it was a scam or something many feelings in that called, this officer call me to cancel my appointment I was like omg again??? this can’t happened… I asking him with respect I know you ar busy but please just answer me a quick question… he said go ahead… I have 2 cases one new and one on hold due to I-290b which case are you talking about? he said we have combined your two cases in one file… so we will notify you when your appointment is rescheduled. I was in shocked I was like why are they calling me , is this real? it’s scam? they never call they are really cold .. anyway this officer end the call saying!! this info has been communicated to your attorney. I was like wowwwww . call
ended.
5. my attorney called me and she said yes they called and you have to wait. get ready a new medical exam just in case. I have that ready and same week a got the same non professional letter. appear alone , passport and pen.
6. I went with my spouse he was able to enter, we got out Intervie and a week later my gc was delivered to my home even when during the interview the immigration officer told me at the end that my case was going to be on hold for review.
having an attorney save my life and finally that nightmare ends late year on October 2020. how are you going?!

I have 1290b case pending 1 year now

Hey everyone! It's been a minute since our last chat, and I wanted to share a quick update on what's been going on. I recently wrapped up another process with USCIS, which is why I'm back on the app.
Our last conversation was back in October 2021, where I mentioned the challenges of securing my Green Card. It took filling out the I-485 twice and throwing in the I-290b (which didn't pan out for me). Eventually, I had to bring in a lawyer and essentially start from scratch, but it was totally worth it because I finally got my Green Card. Post-2020, I made the move to Los Angeles, and that's where I'm currently based.
Now, I'm eagerly checking the app for updates on my N-400 application, which is scheduled for the oath ceremony. This is a huge milestone for me, considering the hurdles along the way. It's proof that the wait and challenges have been worthwhile. I'm curious about how things are going for you any updates on your end?
