I-131 expedite request denied
My dad was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer recently, so I filed an expedite request for I-131. However they denied my request because they don’t think it’s an emergency. My own father is dying and this might be the last chance I can see him, but this is not an emergency, they say.
Ironically, the field office transferred my case to NBC on Thursday 01/06/2022, and they made the decision right next day. How can they just deny a request like this so quickly and so ruthlessly?
I don’t understand.
I don’t know what to do right now. My father doesn’t have too much time to live. As I am typing this, my heat is bleeding, I am loosing the hope of my life…#I-131 expedite request denied

@ANBO 3 they do have my fingerprints and everything. the reason they gave me is that my case doesn’t meet their request as emergency.

@jiani usually people don't make the expedite for 131 so quick .I think they gonna denied till the end.
for be approved for emergency permit you have to show and evidence A LOT of information.you gonna need notes for doctors saying your dad is almost dying, affidavits,proof you are the only one who can take care.You need your biometrics first and you still not have an appointment.I don't know your case but they are really picky about it.Uscis can be cruel ,but this is inmigration,is not a drive thru sandwich,so buckled up and prepare for frustration, anxiety and desperation,if you don't get that you gonna be ranting for all .The most days your gonna see updates and they do something is Mondays and wednesdays.You case WAS all the time in NBC .is only in field office when you have your interview scheduled.They will not tell you all what they gonna do.im pretty sure you didn't receive your NOA 1 yet ,I know what I said can sound cruel but I hope they give it to you something.They not gonna give you work permit in case you did the "combo card" (apply booth at same time) .and last you don't need to put in your timeline all that information .is confusing and not relevant,you should will do it with your REAL updates.

@H B I don’t have H/L Visa. I am married to a US citizen and waiting for my green card. I requested the expedite 12/17/2021, they ask me to go to the field office to have interview which I did. The field office then transferred my case to national benefit center, where they denied my request next day. The reason is that my case (father dying) doesn’t fit their criteria.
