I-130: Got „Actively Reviewed“ Notification Twice After Denied Entry on ESTA
Hi! My husband (USC) submitted our I-130 on June 15, 2021 online. Our NOA1 stated Texas Service Center.
Last Sunday, Oct 17, I attempted to travel to the US with him but was denied entry in Dublin Airport US Pre-clearance. I didn’t have enough proof with me to show that I have ties to my home country that require me to go home before 90 days (traveled on ESTA). They ended up revoking my ESTA permanently and told me that I would need to apply for a tourist visa from now on, but that this did not have any effect on our I-130 petition.
The next day, Monday, we get an update on our case: case is being actively reviewed as of Oct 18, twice in a row. I have read that two notifications resulted in an approval by the next few days, but we haven’t heard anything since then.
Would it be possible that the CBP incident triggered something? With our PD being mid-June, it’s technically a bit early to get an approval, even though we won’t be upset obviously. It would just be an odd coincidence that the status changed a day after the CBP denies my entry.
Thanks for any experience or insight on this!

It may but it may also just be a coincidence! You should be getting approval in a few days! And don’t worry this will not affect anything in the process at all! I’ve seen people at the Texas center getting approved after 100 days so you guys might be lucky 🍀 and get approved soon! I’ve seen a few people here posting about getting approvals from Texas recently so the needle is moving!
(Our PD is June 23rd 2021 and Texas center too, actively reviewing since July 9th)

Thanks for your response! I really hope so. Timelines on VJ for Texas are all over the place, so I really don’t know what to think. Have you received an update at all?
M COct 21, 2021
Of course ! Did not receive any update since actually reviewing on July 9th! We keep being positive and luckily we make it work seeing each other every two months hubby is coming here and we are planning also to meet somewhere else nice where it’s cheap to fly for both of us! Gotta make the best of it somehow 😊
Im super sure you’re going to hear very soon, a second actively review is good! Have you checked the documents section on your Uscis online account? Seems like people have seen their approval notice on there without the app being notified!

That sounds like a great plan for you two 😊 he’s visiting over Christmas luckily but our plans for me being there until then obviously have been crushed now 😢
We checked the documents section yesterday, nothing there besides the receipt letter. I want to check 10 times a day but I’m going to drive my hubs crazy with that code he needs to forward me every time to login haha
M COct 21, 2021
Haha I do the same with the code thing on his email 😂 well Christmas is only in two months (hubby comes here on Christmas too 😊) and it will fly by until then! Don’t worry too much - it feels like it’s never ending but time actually does go fast!!! You should try to meet in Canada! Shorter flight for him and nice vacay for you too!
Lena GOct 21, 2021
Yes, time flies by indeed! The unknown is just the worst, there’s no way of knowing when it moves on cause they don’t seem to approve it by file date only. Canada is a good idea! Might do that next year in case nothing has changed ☺️
M COct 21, 2021
Yes the unknown is definitely hard to handle… wishing you guys all the luck!!!!
Lena GOct 21, 2021
thank you, you too!! 🍀

Thank you so much 😊

I indeed got the approval on Friday, after 14 months. However, I’m no longer seeking immigration since our divorce process was started in the meantime

no, just that one actively reviewed status change
