i730 approved late July 2022. sent to the department of state late August 2022. Status at NVC changed to “ready” late September 2022.

If you Google nvc case Status there will be a page on ceac.state. gov where you can put the nvc numbers for your immigrant visa. it doesn’t tell you much though, so there isn’t much need to “track” it.

yes. they were slow to send our letters. the case had already been transferred for a month by the time I got them. I got the numbers earlier than that because my congressman’s office tracked them down for me. I appreciate that they did that but I didn’t get very much information from it, other than the assurance that nobody lost the files at the NVC.

there is no pd with asylum based reunification. and the case is now past USCIS processing and is at a consular office, so that means no service center.

same here PD is 2019 case went to nvc September 2022 till now haven’t gotten anything from the Ugandan embassy

I think my case is about a month ahead of yours. mine was sent to nvc in August

but are we to have the interviews from our Ugandan embassy or it’s a must we shall have to go to Nairobi for the interviews of our visa??

Kampala does interviews for asylum based follow to join petitions. I’m not sure what happens with refugee based FTJ but I think Nairobi does them. Nairobi does almost all other interviews.

so if you are waiting on an asylum based ftj interview it should happen in Kampala. If you received a document from the nvc , it will state there the location where the interview will be conducted

it currently takes between 8 and 12 months.

yes the embassy has contacted us for interviews. I hope you will have yours scheduled soon. I don’t want to post much until the process is complete, but they are moving through their backlog. hopefully I have more to report soon!

interviews seems to be talking about 8 to 10 months to get scheduled. maybe longer. they won’t let you schedule medical exams until after interviews are completed. there were some unexpected complications with my case so I haven’t been updating information here. I think it is going to get resolved soon though. Good luck to everyone else!

Visas were approved feb 21 2024. family traveled same day. finally over, praise God

I don’t know exactly what they asked but I think it was about confirming the relationship to the petitioner (my friend). they weren’t difficult questions. but they examine the documents closely and they found some small mistakes on ours that caused delays. it eventually got worked out

we did write many times but I’m not sure it made any difference. eventually they got to us. anyone have more recent experience? I have another friend just starting the wait for the interview and he would like to know how long the line is right now
