How long does I 485 take after I 140 is approved?
I submitted I 485 , 765 and 140 in March 2021. So far, only my biometrick is done. Nothing has been approved yet. My employer refuses to expedite I 140. For me , the $2500 to expedite is too expensive. Is expediting I 140 a good idea now, or it is a waste of money? Can you say how much your I 485 took after I 140 was approved?

I would recommend to pay the $ 2,500 yourself. Your greencard process is not portanble if your 140 is not approved. Meaning if you loose your job and your employer withdraws the petition than you can’t port your green card process and need to start from the beginning.

there’s some artciles mention the pros and cons about 140 premium. basically they said if you are under h1 visa it can be benefit to extend the visa and also you can change job or positions. it will also allow the petitioner to move up/down in different eb categories and this actually can speed the gc process. the cons is they not guarantee faster gc and probably all the premium 140 are causing delays in the other process such 129 for instance

but you like me that stuck in nebraska have not to many options. in our case the service center actually did not process cases as they should and it will take long time anyway doesn’t matter if it’s eb1, 2 or 3. the best will be they transferes your case to some other service center (faster)

Ser, so if you have i140 approval and employer withdraws the aso process you will still get through everything?
T TJan 31, 2022
I don't think that's correct you got to have your employer sponsorship regardless of you i140 status
S BJan 31, 2022
@wk you can port to another employer if it’s approved

I did I140 premium and it was approved in 6 days, it’s expensive but for me totally worth it
Malik ManonovJan 31, 2022
hold on a sec… can you do premium processing for eb2-niw???!!
ash sJan 31, 2022
No.
Malik ManonovJan 31, 2022
what you mean by 2500$ for expedite?
ash sJan 31, 2022
My case is Eb2 with Perm. Not NIW. You can expedite I 140 with Perm, not NIW.
Malik ManonovJan 31, 2022
got it! thanks for explaining
T TJan 31, 2022
@S b I am not aware of that
Graceful ManJan 31, 2022

Nebraska service Center need to transfer the case to NBC to expedite the approval process.
zingo seamerJan 31, 2022
Otherwise they will not be able to clear backlog in last recieved and PD basis.
What is happening here later recieved and PD getting approval from NBC. Application stuck in Nebraska.
