I encourage you to try it any way. Your sponsor could help but there is always things that only 1 person paying, they might not be able to cover things in long run. it will never hurt your status if they denied the request. Anyhow, it’s up to your confortable level. I tried my with same reason but did not hear back (some people do, though). You can do it through calling uscis asking for expedit request or chat with EMMA (uscis chat not on thier website) asking to expedite. Select the case status and ask for expedite request. They will ask for your case number and personal info. you follow thier instruction and use financial loss. If this doesn’t work, you can try expedit through your congressman. Good luck!

Nope. From what I have read on the reddit and somewhere else USCIS can not use this against your case. Beside, in reality, things can change. Sponsor can lost thier job while waiting for the case to be approved. But if you are worrie, no need to expedite.
