Does USCIS ever update documents without sending an email notification?
I’ve been trying not to obsess over checking the online portal so much. I figured I should just wait until my husband gets the email alert that action has been taken on our case. I wonder, can USCIS update the documents section with your approval and not immediately send the email? Similar to how they can update documents with the approval notice without actually updating the case status to approved. In which case, it might be a good idea to continue checking the online portal even without receiving the email that action has been taken. What do you think?
For context, I’m a US Citizen and we’ve already had the 1-130 and EAD approved. We’re waiting on the I-485 approval now. We got an RFE for updated tax returns and some other little things. We have an attorney. We already responded to the RFE on August 16 with the help of our attorney. We sent in his medical form when we initially filed. Our office is the national benefits center. We filed the I-485 in Nov 2022.

@Fei B We filed the I-485 in November 2022. I just want to know if USCIS can update documents without immediately sending the email that alerts you that action has been taken on your case. Similar to how they can update documents with the approval notice without actually updating the case status to approved. Thanks.

@Jewel O don't forget that even if you don't receive the email notification you will receive a notice in the mail
