background check after interview was completed
hello everyone!
I completed my interview in May 2021 and up till now, case status keeps saying it’s under review. I decided to contact them yesterday and they said they sent my case for background check and as for now they can’t tell me when it will be back for adjudication or decision to be made. can anyone tell me why they are performing another background check ? this should have been completed before my interview right ? or even when I did my biometrics. can someone please explain to me? thanks in advance !

Not sure why they are doing another background check.
My interview was in Oct 2021, still says in review.
May I ask how did you contact them?

I tried calling but multiple times but it was a waste of time so I went through emma on the website and the representative told me request an enquiry for case outside normal processing time

hello. after interview AOS. marriage. we got a RFE. after my response no update. I raised a service request because my case is outside normal process. USCIS now I saying that my case is background check pending.

l think that when you go to the interview is because your case is ready for a lO potential decision . why they says that background check is pending?

I'm on the same boat, July 1st completed interview for naturalization. same background check thin 😒they don't know when it will be over .

l submitted my RFE response on September 2021. after that. no update about it. in December l did a SR. the uscis response was that my case is pending for background check. 🤔 🙄.
I think it's a automatic answer .

@call me bless I had my citizenship interview on October and now decision on my case , did SR , they said it’s under extender review , no time frame when decision gonna be made …

I had rfe before the interview and it was requesting for proof that marriage is bonified

@al mai same thin .I contacted my congressman they contacted uscis , uscis wrote my congressman that my case is now under going extended background check 😒 and can't tell when it will return.

that’s insane! i filed the ombudsman last week, no reply from them yet. will see what’s gonna be! how did you contact congressmen? by phone?

every case that file 2021 u don't heard anyone of them talking about background check SO what happen to 2020 almost everyone is back ground check God almighthy why can't u confuse the Demon from hell let them let go your people enough is enough
