Approved Expedite Request I-765 (TSC)
I applied for EAD renewal on April 2021. My case falls under the Texas Service Center. It is currently taking anywhere between 11.5 and 13.5 months to get EAD approvals. However, I just got a message saying they approved my request for expedite processing. What does that mean? Also, I don’t remember requesting expedite approval. But I did request my local congressman’s help a couple of months ago in regards to my i140, i765, and i485. I’m so confused. I wonder if they requested an expedite approval. Does anyone know, 1) How long will it take for my card to be produced? and 2) Can I switch employers?

@Diana: Honestly, I just reached out to local Congressman and wrote him a letter asking him to assist me with reaching out to USCIS in regards to my i485 (out of processing time), i140 (updating my case online… because supposedly it got approved a year ago but it never reflected online), and i765 EAD renewal (because even though it was not out of processing time, I had renewed it 8 months prior and it was ridiculous to wait 12 months and I had to get back to work). All of this was at the end of December. So they sent a letter to uscis in January 4 and I got the EAD expedite request approved on Feb 25. I am more interested in getting my i485 approved though. Hopefully I’ll received the good news soon.

@Diana: I forgot to mention, in regards to my i765 EAD renewal, I also said this on my letter (to congressman):
“Plus, in addition to not being allowed to work, I am also not able to 1) Renew my Drivers License, 2) Apply for Homestead Excemption, and 3) Renew my Car License Plates since I don’t have a current Valid ID form and I can’t get one without a valid EAD.”
Fortunately, after sending the letter to the congressman, I figured out a way to renew my DL which allowed me to renew homestead and car plates. So that’s taken care of.

Thanks L S - can I ask which congressman you used? Are you in Houston?
L SMar 2, 2022
@Pukh: No I haven’t. This just happened within the last few days:
Feb 25: Expedite request approved
Feb 28: New card is being produced
March 1: Case was approved

@CG 7: I live in McAllen so my local congressman is Vicente Gonzalez. You can check who you fall under here: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

@CG7: I then googled the phone number for his local office and called and ask who the best person was to assist me with immigration processing. The guy that answer was really helpful and emailed me all the documents I needed to fill out.
CG 7Mar 2, 2022
Thanks - my congressman wouldn't help as I am within processing times for the local field office they say would make a final adjudication on my case - even though I am EB and will 90% not get an interview.

This article was really helpful if you are trying to ask for help from your congressman: https://www.boundless.com/blog/how-to-contact-your-representative-to-speed-up-your-visa-processing-time/
L SMar 2, 2022
@CG7: What does that even mean? You are out of processing time with TSC according to their website and that’s all that should matter. I think you need to ask to talk to somebody else.
CG 7Mar 2, 2022
Their own ' office guidelines' are that they only assist people once it goes beyond normal processing at the FO they will ultimately land in for a decision. It is ridiculous, baisically although I am 5 months over TSC a processing, they only look at the Houston FO which is 28 months, opposed to 19. I am currently at 25 months.

I’ll keep you guys updated!

Hi All, I got a notification that 'New Card is being Produced' for the EAD of both myself and my wife. No update to the 131, but we hope that comes tomorrow or shortly after. We received combo cards first time around and have four dependents.
