don’t worry my interview was 4/16 officer said he approved our case and I received approval notice in 5 days and then gc in separate envelope and still don’t get nothing . No change on my online account still interview was scheduled I think we just need to wait

my RFE was on October last year. I called on April 12th and was told I would hear from them with a target date of April 28th. yesterday my i765 moved to "ordered new card and will mail to address you gave us." But you've been approved so just sit tight it can take a few days to a few weeks for them to process your paperwork and they are still working understaffed as well.

Nicholas de Groot it is understandable that it takes time or short staffed or what else! but when they mention you gonna get the update today or tomorrow morning and card is gonna be in hand till 2 weeks but you don’t get anything its a little bit confusing!

Nina, what is so confusing? There are several million applications that uscis must process its not just yours or 2 other people. You were approved 2 days ago and are confused, really? Covid19 has slowed down the entire country. The postal service has been disrupted and not to forget there was a change in government and an understaffed uscis had to wait for changes in the immigration policies to be implemented before beginning work on cases. I understand your frustration but your journey was much longer that your approval of 2 days ago. a week or 2 longer isn't the end of the world.

while I understand the delay, the confusing part is that you are not sure if they really approved it or change their mind....someone saying I will approve your case and you seeing that your case is approved are two different things.... the officer said “I will review your supporting documents and send your card in the mail in two weeks”

@Jacek Thank you for sharing your experience, May I know what is your field office? We Interviewed on 29th of March in Newark NJ. Officer said we will hear something in a month. Nothing yet online status still says Interview scheduled.

actually, there’s a tool outage announcement on USCIS website.. the CRIS system is out hence no case up.. Wednesday-Thursday tho.

like everything goes wrong from the beginning I think because we are mixed couple they split us and our answers wasn’t completely the same we spent there like almost hour but on the end he said he approved the case and I have 2 years conditionally gc he said also we have 2 years to gets better proof of our marriage because we don’t have a lot right now and on the end he tell us to go celebrate I hope he not joking lol but he said also if he denied our case they don’t let us leave the building

I don't think they will joke like that 😅 Our lives and plans hang on their decision, They better no joke about this. lol It went pretty good actually, IO was kinda harsh on me (beneficiary) nothing too bad but felt somewhat rude at some point I think. He did congratulate me for my new job though. Noticed we have been filing taxes together since married. Asked my lawyer for documents, He said we have everything while submitting to him. Both me and my wife are engineers, So he was like he feels a bit jealous of us. lol In the end he said we will hear back from him in a month then continues less than a month most probably. I asked how we did, He said good (with smile). Our lawyer said we did good.

May I please know your PD ? Mine is Dec 9 2019 So here is my theory lol ( Not a legal advice ofcourse) : I believe they will process these cases (which were not approved on the spot) In the manner they were received. So if me and you both have straight forward case (no previous marriage, No criminal record or anything, But just needs a document review/supervisor review) You have a PD of September 2019, I have PD of Dec 2019, They will adjudicate you first even if our interviews were during the same time. Since from their point of view, applicants will make SR for "case outside normal processing" So technically early PD should be their priority even if two applicants had Interviews at the same time.

they are reviewing your case and documents to make a final decision. that’s what was on my paper after the interview and the sent me RFE for more documents. so keep watching.

they indeed are, To us he said will hear back in less than a month. (Interview 3/29/2021) Called USCIS like last week, Agent said well, Officers don't know how long it is gonna take. But aren't they supposed to make decisions? What do you mean they don't know.

@Nina, Yeah I did, lawyer saying to wait, He is saying because of Covid USCIS is really busy. My wife made SR on i130 got same response to wait, Because of present situation case can take longer. So will wait till the end of this month and make another request. @Jacek I read somewhere, Some FOs review cases in bulk. So most probably we will hear back at the same time. update on my case I had my interview 5/4 and was told I’m approved no update until 5/10 so I did a service request online and called tier 1 officer for the same. 2 days later “ case was approved” 5/12. 5/14 “card was mailed to you”. 5/17 “case was picked up by USPS” I was given an estimate of delivery by 5/20. however 5/18 today that was updated to delivery today and I recieved my Green card

Hopefully soon we hear something from them I think NJ. and NY are slow because there is a lot of immigrants here more then other states

@Essam Many congratulations, @Jacek, I am sorry, I thought I replied you. Yeah, I agree Newark is the slowest. I read on immihelp a guy got approved 2 months after interview. His interview was on March 17 and got approved on May 17. So hopefully something soon 🤞

Same. I think you should put an e-request now. Since he said you are approved, And it has been more than a month already, Just enquire if everything is good or no. I am putting second request or congressional enquiry in the beginning of June.

I think you should wait 60 days before you reach out.. that’s what the letter I got at my interview says.

So first request I made at 28 days, Since IO said I will hear back in 30 days. Now second I am gonna do after 60 days.

okay.. actually my letter has a number to call the field office. I got an RFE one week after my interview.

@Gerald what did they ask you to take to your interview?

my medical form, utilities(internet,electric ) we share together, bank statements, pictures. auto insurance, life insurance from external company, I listed my wife as beneficiary to all my work benefits and printed that records. I also called one America that manages my company life insurance to give me a letter confirming my beneficiary. I made copies of the 2 debit card to that bank statements, I added my wife to my credit card and took copies of the letter and the 2 credit cards.

after my interview, they review for 1 week and send me RFE for affidavit of support.. my wife doesn’t not work anymore and she signed my affidavit of support in my initial application.. now am getting a joint sponsor to sign that form and am sending it this Friday to them.

usually, what they need is on the interview schedule letter.

thanks and yes it was included in the letter. I had a previous i485 that was denied so this is my second. this one's asked for a lot more information that previous. I have all the info so no worries with that and I do have to get an i693 medical done since the last one has been more than 2 years.

Thank you. I believe if it has been more than a month after interview, you haven't received any RFE and you don't see any issue. They will just approve it before the 4 months mark. But stay on top of your case with them, USCIS is notoriously known for making mistakes.

Hey Nich, thanks for checking on us. it’s almost 90 days since I responded to the RFE and nothing yet. I made an inquiry online on their website and they reply that they sent the inquiry to the field office and they will get back to me soon.
