i’m guessing your case may not transfer, however your office may change (the one you go to the interview) and things may get faster for you since cali is fast. Good Luck

so your work permit only take 3 days to get approved? or the timeline is wrong

@Mary, I understand for F2A you have to be on status throughout the processing period? Are you still on status?

@jimmy i didnt know that. i am student but will be graduating in a month. when i graduate i will be using my ead to work. the. i will be on pending 485 status. isnt it the case?
Dee DeeApr 9, 2022
@mary fary, I think he’s asking if you need to be in status throughout the whole greencard/AOS process

@jimmy I think one should never go out of status. but waiting for green card and being in green card process is a status by itself. so i am student now so i have f1 status. i will be graduating in 3 weeks and start using my ead. then my f1 status terminates and my status changes to pending 485. so i am still in status. so to your question, yes one should not go out of status. dont know if that makes sense or answers ur question 🤔

@Jimmy Jat i guess if you are in valid visa and if you apply for AOS before expiry of that visa and once USCIS sends you receipt notice after receiving case then you are on pending 485 status i guess (for F2A). Someone please correct me if i am wrong. Thank you
