Filing Writ of Mandamus Pro Se After Long USCIS Delay — Need Guidanc
I’ve already completed the pre-mandamus process with my attorney. A demand letter was sent to USCIS giving them 60 days to respond, but unfortunately, I still haven’t received any meaningful decision.
The only recent movement on my I-130 was a status update saying, “USCIS is currently processing your case.” On my I-485, I received a silent update related to the FBI/background check, but nothing further.
I already completed my marriage-based green card interview on April 7, 2025, and I have been waiting ever since without a final decision. At this point, the continued delay has become extremely frustrating.
Because I cannot afford to hire another attorney to file a federal lawsuit, I’ve decided to prepare and file a Writ of Mandamus on my own. I understand that filing pro se is a serious step, but I feel that I have exhausted the other options available to me. Unless I simply continue waiting indefinitely for USCIS, I don’t know what else I can reasonably do.
This feels like my last option to hopefully get USCIS to take action and make a decision on my pending case.
If anyone has successfully filed a Writ of Mandamus pro se for a delayed I-130/I-485 after completing their interview, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, guidance, or personal experience you can share.
please please come soon
God please help my EAD card be approved soon! I lost my job in May due to company wide layoff. 60 days later I lost my work visa. Now I’m about to lose a job offer because EAD card has not arrived. I am going crazy!!!! This is putting a strain on my mental health and relationship with my spouse. I’m terrified of not having a job to save for childcare expenses. Please please please help my EAD get approved soon. I really want to start working and saving again!
Also praying for others in similar situations!

Emma Live Agent Legit?
I have asked emma live agents last two week (two times) about my case’s physical location, they had said my case is in National Benefit Center. can this be true?
Before (in July 2026) I was told my case was in local field office.
Now they are saying it’s in NBC.
have you seen such cases?
Is it trustworthy?!
Thanks

Should I consider mandamus?
Hello everyone Im here for a advice…
I applied for my I485: October 5-2023
Fingerprints taken : July 23-2024
USCIS received my RFE (Medical exam) on September 15-2024
and that was the last update until I got the one of the FBI
My question is:
Its been 36 months since I applied for my green card and still pending
Should I do the Mandamus? or it will be risky?
I feel like I been waiting too long now
(I got my asylum granted on february 2021)
But i couldn’t applied a year later so life circumstances allowed me to do it until 2023
Any similar situation?
