Question for the VAWA Community: What Are Our Health Insurance Options After October 1, 2026?
With the new Medicaid eligibility changes effective October 1, 2026, what health insurance options are available for people with pending VAWA I-360 and I-485 applications? I am not financially in a position to purchase private health insurance at full cost. Are there any affordable alternatives, state-funded programs, or ACA subsidies available to us? Would appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience or guidance.

Has anyone received their Access code? I never received one.. even if I try to request my online access code (which is only valid for 90 days), when I enter my credentials it says information is incorrect. I have already tried numerous times on multiple days, but still nothing..

Lord knows I’m tired of waiting 🥺🙏🏾
Lord, please show me how good life can get with You in control.
Surprise me and my family with Your goodness. Send the right people, open unexpected doors, and bring opportunities beyond what we could ever imagine.
Father, we have spent enough time just trying to survive. Break the cycles of struggle, fear, and disappointment. Let peace replace our worries and faith silence our doubts.
God, our past has had enough chapters of pain. Now write a beautiful new beginning for myself, my family and everyone that comes into contact with this prayer. May our lives be filled with restoration, joy, and answered prayers.
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen 🙏🏾
VAWA Pending Since 2022 – Filed Mandamus Lawsuit, Still Waiting for USCIS to Move My Case
I’m wondering if anyone here has been through something similar or has experience with a mandamus lawsuit for a delayed VAWA case.
My timeline:
* June 8, 2021: I-485 filed.
* February 9, 2022: I-360 (VAWA) filed.
* February 20, 2026: Received an RFE for my I-360.
* April 8, 2026: USCIS received my RFE response.
* June 2026: Congressional inquiry indicated my case was being transferred to NBC.
* September 16, 2026: Filed a federal mandamus/APA lawsuit in the Eastern District of California.
* September 30–October 6, 2026: Government defendants served.
* October 15, 2026: Assistant U.S. Attorney assigned to my lawsuit contacted me regarding an address/jurisdiction discrepancy preventing USCIS from moving my file to the appropriate office.
* October 28, 2026: Government attorney advised there was still no update and asked me to give USCIS more time.
I’ve made multiple congressional inquiries, submitted address changes, and contacted USCIS numerous times. My I-485 address is updated, but USCIS still seems to have conflicting internal records.
It’s frustrating that even after filing a federal lawsuit, USCIS apparently hasn’t been able to get my file to the correct processing office.
Has anyone filed mandamus for a VAWA case and experienced something similar?
How long did it take after the government attorney became involved for USCIS to actually move or adjudicate your case? Did your case eventually get approved, or did the government file a motion to dismiss?
Would appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience or suggestions.

Guidance on Biometrics Appointment After Child Turns 14 – Pending Form I-485
I filed Form I-485 for my daughter as a derivative asylee. When she attended her biometrics appointment, USCIS did not take her fingerprints because she was only 13 years old. She has now turned 14, and her I-485 application is still pending.
According to USCIS rules, do I need to contact USCIS to request a new biometrics appointment, or will USCIS automatically send me a new appointment notice for her fingerprints?
RFE / NOID details and officer numbers
Anyone who received an RFE, there's a community project https://visastats.org/ with a detailed article from over 1,000 Reddit posts that analyzed officer IDs on EB-2 NIW and EB-1A RFEs and NOIDs (like XM1234, EX5678, etc.), recommending this as resource https://visastats.org/rfe-officer-ids/ Good luck to all.
Finally Greened 🎉
