Case Processing
A weird situation- need some clarification
My green card’s expiry date was Jan 2, 2026. I filed I-751 in Nov. last year which gave me an automatic extension of 48 months. Currently, it’s dull being processed.
However, I just applied for N400 today and the receipt notice says they have automatically extended my date by 24 months from my expired green card date, which is before my I-751 extension date.
Want to know your views on which one supersedes?
I want to believe the I-751 does and the best case scenario, the N400 extension is added onto I-751’s 🤞

Need Advice: F2A vs. Citizenship - How Can My Wife and Daughter Immigrate Together?
Need Advice from People Experienced with U.S. Immigration (F2A / Naturalization)
I’m a U.S. Green Card holder, and I’m trying to decide whether to apply for U.S. citizenship now or wait for my wife and young daughter to immigrate to the United States.
My wife and daughter are currently in Bangladesh under my existing F2A family-based immigration case. Their case became Documentarily Qualified (DQ) in June 2026, and we are waiting for an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka.
My main goal is to bring my wife and daughter to the United States together, without one having to wait significantly longer than the other.
I understand that if I become a U.S. citizen, my wife’s case may be upgraded to an immediate-relative category, but my daughter may need a separate I-130 petition and may not be able to remain a derivative applicant on her mother’s case.
I’m considering these options:
1. Wait until my wife and daughter immigrate under the existing F2A case before applying for citizenship.
2. Apply for citizenship now and file a separate I-130 petition for my daughter.
3. Consider another strategy that could help my family immigrate together while avoiding unnecessary delays.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced this situation, especially immigration attorneys or people who have successfully navigated F2A cases from Bangladesh.
* What would you do in my situation?
* Is filing a separate I-130 for my daughter before naturalization a good idea?
* Is there a realistic way to upgrade my wife’s case while coordinating my daughter’s immigration?
Thank you in advance for sharing your experience and guidance.

Received a letter on FBI fingerprints
Hi,
I received a letter on how my fingerprints are being used in conjunction with FBI for continuous vetting, how long after should I expect my RFE? I filed for VAWA in 2021 and was approved in 2024 and got a C-31 EADin November 2024. I have been waiting for medical exam RFE for I-485 since. Sent an application for C-31 EAD renewal in May 2026
N-400 (3-Year Rule) – 1 year since filing, is this still within normal processing time?
Hey everyone,
I submitted my N-400 application a year ago under the 3 year marriage rule.
I am not really worried because I know these cases take time, but I am curious about current timelines. My status has not changed in a few months.
Is anyone else who applied around 12 months ago still waiting? For those who got their interview, how long did the whole process take?
I would love to know if a 1 year wait is still normal or if I should send an inquiry.
Thanks!
