Hello All, I wanted to ask for your advice about traveling to India. I recently finished my PhD this summer. My internship ends on July 28th. I applied for OPT on May 12th, 2026, and also upgraded my application to premium processing on July 17th, but I still haven’t received any update from USCIS. I have accepted a full-time job that starts on September 1. My current F1 visa expires on October 12th, 2026. Since there will be about a 15-day gap between the end of my internship and the start of my new job, I am considering visiting India during that time. Do you think it would be a good idea to travel? Are there any immigration or reentry issues I should be aware of? My OPT is still pending, but I assume it will be approved before August 15th, 2026. I’m not sure whether traveling is a good idea. I would really appreciate your guidance based on your experience. Thank you so much for your time and help. I look forward to hearing from you.

to Everyone Waiting on a Pending Immigration Case
If your case is still pending, don't let the silence convince you that nothing is happening. Some of life's greatest breakthroughs happen behind the scenes before they become visible. In the meantime: - Don't drink and drive. - Don't speed. - Don't fight. - Don't get involved in anything that could harm your future. - Stay away from bad influences, whether they are friends, family members, or situations that lead you down the wrong path. - Obey the law, protect your peace, and continue building the life you are praying for. Don't let one bad decision destroy what you have waited so long to receive. Your future is worth protecting. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep preparing for the day your answer comes. Delays may test your patience, but they do not determine your destiny. Hold on to hope, because hope is never wasted. Prayer Heavenly Father, Today I lift up every person whose immigration case is still pending. You see every tear, every sleepless night, every anxious thought, and every burden they carry. When uncertainty feels overwhelming, fill their hearts with Your perfect peace. Give them strength when they feel weak, courage when they feel afraid, and patience while they wait. Protect them from temptation and from making choices that could negatively affect their future. Surround them with wise people who encourage them to do what is right, and help them walk in integrity every single day. Guide every immigration officer, every decision, and every step of the process according to Your perfect will. Protect their families, provide for every financial need, and remind them daily that they are never alone. May this season of waiting become a testimony of Your faithfulness. And when the answer finally comes, may it bring joy, relief, and gratitude for all You have done. In Jesus' name, Amen.
