How was the hearing on 08/13 about defferred action?
I hear that there is a hearing about deferred action on 08/13 anyone know the result? is here anything we can do about it? The purpose of SIJ is to protect children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Without the protection of deferred action, they cannot keep their work permit, and during the long visa backlog there is no safeguard, which goes against the original purpose. Is the reason for not issuing deferred action now because of the need for stricter screening for terrorists? But deferred action is issued together with the I-360, and the background check — which determines whether someone is a terrorist — is done before deciding the I-360. If the I-360 can be approved, why isn’t deferred action granted? Or is this policy actually meant to align with the federal government’s deportation strategy, so that now even if the I-360 is approved, SIJ applicants still have no legal protection to stay in the U.S.? #EB4 #Defferredaction
