live agent
Has anyone experienced this with a live agent?
One agent told me my case is at a local FO and currently under review and the other one said it’s at NBC and is processing and moving forward at this time. There isn't anything needed or outstanding for your case at this time. It is going through the necessary processing checks that have to be completed before a decision can be made on it.
It doesn't let us know which step your application is on unfortunately.
How do you interpret this contradiction?
mistakes in i130, scared of denial
we submitted our i130 in January 2026 and realized a month later that the petitioner made a few mistakes on the form.
we sent a cover letter correcting our mistakes.
do you think we can be denied?
our mistakes:
Error 1 – Petitioner’s Parent Information (Page 3, Sections 24–35)
I mistakenly entered my wife’s parents’ information instead of my own. Please note that my mother is divorced and remarried, resulting in a legal name change.
Error 2 – Petitioner’s Address History (Page 2, Sections 13–15)
a few mistakes we made
Error 3 – Petitioner’s Employment Information (Page 4, Section 42)
Employer 1
My employment status should've been listed as student but I put a past job by mistake
Error 4 – Beneficiary’s Intended Address (Page 5, Other Address and Contact Information)
Section 12.a. should indicate “Same”, as the beneficiary intends to live with me but we left blank
Error 5 – Beneficiary’s Entry Information (Page 7, Section 46.a.)
The correct visa classification should be “B1/B2” rather than “UN – Unknown.” The beneficiary is a Canadian citizen who sees me on a visitor’s visa.
Derivative Asylee I-485 (any suggestion?)
All of us (my wife, the main applicant, my daughter and I) filed our I-485 application in March 2024, my wife got approved in January 2025 and daughter got approved in August 2025.......mine changed 4 months ago in April 2026 to "Case Is Ready to Be Scheduled for an Interview (Last system update was 119 days ago)......total time is 886 days with no decision......
A Senator expedite request was submitted 2 days ago due to urgent family medical reasons.
For anyone with a similar derivative asylum timeline, how long did your case stay on "Case Is Ready to Be Scheduled for an Interview" before you received a final decision or an interview waiver? how long did it take for your final approval?
thanks

Filed Mandamus... Government Wants Another 60 Days?
My I-485 has been pending for a little over 2 years. I finally got tired of waiting and hired a lawyer (paid a little over $3k) to file a writ of mandamus. Today is Day 58 since filing, and my attorney forwarded me an email from the government lawyer. They asked if we'd agree to give them another 60 days, saying USCIS intends to issue a decision during that time.
My attorney said it's pretty common for the government to ask for an extra 30 days, but asking for 60 days isn't something they see very often. They think USCIS might just be backed up.
I'm leaning toward agreeing since it sounds like at least they're finally working on my case.
Has anyone else gotten a 60-day extension request after filing mandamus?

Expedite Request
Hi everyone. I’m looking for some guidance from anyone who has successfully submitted an expedite request to USCIS for urgent humanitarian reasons, specifically for a pending waiver.
My case has already been pending for approximately 53 months since may 2022. Unfortunately, my family in Colombia has just been severely affected by the recent earthquake. My parents lost their home, other members of my family have also been affected, and one of my sisters is currently missing.
I am extremely worried and desperate to be with my family during this emergency. I would like to request expedited processing of my pending waiver based on urgent humanitarian circumstances.
Has anyone here gone through a similar situation involving a natural disaster or serious family emergency?
If so, could you please share how you submitted your expedite request, what evidence you provided, and whether you submitted it yourself, through an attorney, through USCIS, or with congressional assistance?
I would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has successfully expedited a waiver or another USCIS case based on humanitarian reasons.
Thank you so much. Any guidance or personal experience would mean a lot to me right now.
ead card
Hi everyone, I’m currently waiting for my OPT EAD card, and my I-765 case is still showing as “Case Is Being Processing .” The estimated processing time has already passed, so I’m getting concerned and wanted to check with others.
Has anyone who applied for OPT in February or March received their EAD card yet? If yes, when did you receive your approval and physical card?
If you’re still waiting, how long has your case been pending, and what status is showing for you?
I’m trying to understand whether there is a general delay with February/March applications. Please share your updates or experiences. Thank you!
