mistakes in i130, scared of denial
we submitted our i130 in January 2026 and realized a month later that the petitioner made a few mistakes on the form.
we sent a cover letter correcting our mistakes.

Error 1 – Petitioner’s Parent Information (Page 3, Sections 24–35)
I mistakenly entered my wife’s parents’ information instead of my own. Please note that my mother is divorced and remarried, resulting in a legal name change.
Error 2 – Petitioner’s Address History (Page 2, Sections 13–15)

My employment status should've been listed as student but I put a past job by mistake
Error 4 – Beneficiary’s Intended Address (Page 5, Other Address and Contact Information)
Section 12.a. should indicate “Same”, as the beneficiary intends to live with me but we left blank
Error 5 – Beneficiary’s Entry Information (Page 7, Section 46.a.)
The correct visa classification should be “B1/B2” rather than “UN – Unknown.” The beneficiary is a Canadian citizen who sees me on a visitor’s visa.
