if your a US citizen you should file i485 if not uscis will send you file to department of state and then NVC for consular processing.

@JR I was a citizen for five years before filing for my spouse and it has taken us this long to get an approval

if your I-485 says approved then you just needs to wait for the greencard to arrive

that’s the reason by the way Indian ppl and African their case take forever I know one friend from India his case took 10 years just to get his GC
