VAWA I-485 interview
Hello family
I recently had an interview and it did not go v smooth. My Attorny attended the interview with me. The interview lasted Hour and a half. It was a female officer and she ask my name DOB, address, took my id and birth certificate then she asked questions from i485 application which I answered correctly. After that she asked few questions from VAWA Application, I couldn’t recall exact dates and month of few incidents, she corrected me that dates are not right, so I told her these incidents happend arroud 10 years ago and I don’t remembered them exactly and trying to answer with best of my knowledge.
I don’t have a good feeling after the interview. She said she they will respond within 30-60 days.
Anybody who applied for VAWA, went through the same situation plz share your experience and outcome after the interview.

@Mr Mak unfortunately that’s your lawyers fault. immigration officers do not have jurisdiction to ask about abuse during a green card interview. your lawyer should tell her this.
Charlaprince princelachar 15 de sep de 2024
you had a bad lawyer…
sometimes, it’s better to have a good female lawyer. Just in case you get a female interviewer.
They know how to tackle each other well. still hope for the best. Forgetting stories of over 5 years is very understandable

VAWA forgives alot of stuff so if I was you I wouldn’t worry since my i360 has been approved so your i485 will surely be approved.
Mr MSK15 de sep de 2024
don’t know what gonna happen
will they revoked an approved VAWA?
Jah Bless15 de sep de 2024
@Mr Mak An approved VAWA can never be revoked!!!
tired from waitingg15 de sep de 2024
you will be alright but they shouldn’t ask anything related to vawa tho that’s weird
@Kenn Kenn. are you sure for that? genuinely asking cuz did not know they can not if they can not that’s definitely good thing
Mr MSK15 de sep de 2024
just looked on uscis website they have abelity to revoke any approved self petition under chapter 6 revocation
Jah Bless15 de sep de 2024
@tired from waitingg Yes 💯 percent sure about it.
Jah Bless15 de sep de 2024
@Mr Mak NOT VAWA sir
survivor p15 de sep de 2024
@Mr Mak don’t worry. technically they can revoke but only if you lied and they will find it. so that’s not the case. everything will be alright
hope hope15 de sep de 2024
@Mr Mak : please stay positive. who never knows, what’s will be happen.
Mr MSK15 de sep de 2024

@Kenn Kenn. response “ An approved vawa can never be revoked”. You are funny 😆
Jah Bless15 de sep de 2024
@survivor p @A T Reopening a case for reconsideration after approved is different from REVOKE, an approved i360 can be reopened for consideration which might lead to denial, but it won’t be revoked like they will do a Green card or citizenship if that MAKE ENOUGH SENSE
A T15 de sep de 2024
@Kenn Kenn. In certain cases, after a self petition is approved, the USCIS has the authority to revoke the petition based on reliable new evidence.
I hope you study further on this.
az az15 de sep de 2024
@Mr Mak you will be fine. The officer went outside the I-485 Adjudication process. Good thing you told her you couldn't remember. There is no lie in that.
survivor p15 de sep de 2024
@Kenn Kenn. you don’t know what are you talking about
mili Jean15 de sep de 2024
that happened to my friend and she was crying and stressed eventually she received her green card in mail… just pray and keep faith.
sam sam15 de sep de 2024
best wishes you will get your green card don't worry
Mr MSK15 de sep de 2024
@Mili Carr can you plz ask her how many days it took for her to get her green card
Kanye East16 de sep de 2024
@Kenn Kenn. There was another guy on here that said his i485 was denied for the same exact reason as listed in this post. He couldn’t remember dates too & his denial letter said ‘numerous inconsistencies’. Mine was denied because I said ‘I did not stay illegally’ but he had the records already & I did overstay by almost a year & half. My denial letter said ‘willful misrepresentation’
Jah Bless16 de sep de 2024
@survivor p I don’t know what I’m talking about 😂. Okay I will let you dwell on what you know.
@A T They have the right to reopen for consideration if new evidence found against applicant, but i360 is an application that’s even stronger than i130, but I don’t understand how yall don’t read revocation for i360 is not possible. They either deny, approve or reopen for consideration to reapprove or redeny, but when you talk about revocation it’s taking the privilege back based on unreversable evidence but i360 still give you chance to tackle it. But @survivor p Who just got approved days ago said I don’t know what I’m talking about 😂😂😂
Jah Bless16 de sep de 2024
@Kanye East Appeal it, don’t file for a new case if “Willful Misrepresentation” was the reason, meaning you withheld information that should have been disclosed. If you appeal and explain that was from your Lawyer or if you have a psychological evaluation based off what you went through to have applied for vawa you could use that as an excuse to say your lawyer omitted some informations and you didn’t get to go through the form yourself to rectify anything on it. Could only be serious if it was denied at the interview itself
survivor p16 de sep de 2024
@Kenn Kenn. That’s what I
found on the USCIS website: „A VAWA I-360 supervisor at the service center must review the field office memorandum and the related file to determine whether to initiate the revocation process or to reaffirm the self-petition. If the supervisor disagrees with the recommendation of the field office and decides to reaffirm the self-petition, a separate memorandum must be prepared explaining why the self-petition was reaffirmed. The service center then returns the memorandum to the USCIS field office that made the recommendation. If the supervisor agrees with the recommendation to revoke the approval of the self-petition, the service center issues a notice of intent to revoke the approval to the self-petitioner.” Do you think USCiS doesn’t know what they are talking about?
Jah Bless16 de sep de 2024
@survivor p What does a notice of “intent to revoke” means to you in my explanations?????? THEY WILL GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO FIGHT IT, unlike i130, you should read about the immigration strength of i360 before thinking it could just be stripped off anyone any how bruh. Looks like you not understand my explanations imma let it be bruh. Wish you the best and I pray may none of us gets to face that.
Jah Bless16 de sep de 2024
@survivor p No problem
survivor p16 de sep de 2024
@Kenn Kenn. I understand what you wrote. you posted to @A T that „an approved I360 can be reopened for consideration which might lead to denial but it won’t be revoked”. but USCIS website clearly states that after reconsideration petition may be revoked. so I don’t agree with you that approved VAWA can never be revoked. anyway 2 points of views. you and me have right for it
Jah Bless16 de sep de 2024
@survivor p If new evidence is found against you in an approved vawa, all they do first is reopen for consideration, but my bad I thought you were just like you can be stripped off your i360 approval just like they will do citizenship or green card without a chance to prove or fight any evidence found against you. Cuz I know people who’s citizenship and green card has been stripped off and placed on deportation without having the chance to fight anything found against them.
Kanye East16 de sep de 2024
@Kenn Kenn. It’s too late. The appeal time of 30 days is already over. The lawyer said filing a new i485 would make more sense. I need a waiver now.
Zillionnaire O16 de sep de 2024
@Kenn Kenn. please what's a waiver?
juju Blanke16 de sep de 2024
Your lawyer is very messy
Jah Bless16 de sep de 2024
@Kanye East I think the good thing is you don’t have to pay for a new one, but remember to file form i601 as well for section 212 waiver. You will be approved don’t worry, good thing your vawa has been approved you already have a protected status in the US
Jah Bless16 de sep de 2024
@Zillionnaire O A waiver is a form filed along with any immigration benefit to allow the USCIS overlook anything that could hinder you from getting the benefit/grant filed for..
Mr MSK16 de sep de 2024
@Kanye East ok yours and another guy i485 was denied (feel sorry for you) what about i360 was it remains approved?
Zillionnaire O16 de sep de 2024
@Kenn Kenn. thanks so much. Never knew such exists.
Kanye East16 de sep de 2024
@Mr Mak My i360 remains approved. I have not found any cases of i360 being revoked as of now. Usually if it’s a common thing, you will find some information online but I have not seen even once such case yet.

@Mr Mak i had interview in april my interview went same as you lasted for 1:30 hour. officer told me you will have response in 2-4 weeks its been 5 months now. even i have submitted some inquiries throgh congress. but there is no reply from them. let’s hope for good🙏
me & you16 de sep de 2024
guys May we not experience revocation . of watsoever, but let me tell you this, it’s only by virtue of birth that nothing can be revoked from you. other than that, you can be striped of citizenship let alone ordinary approval because it’s a process and as well a privilege not your right. whoever is affected now, u still have the opportunity to amend it. that’s why they can reaffirm and also revoke because humans do make errors. selah.
Kerry S16 de sep de 2024
@Mr Mak I'm not sure why your crappy lawyer allowed them to ask you vawa questions. That petition was already approved and they should have been reminded of that. In any case, I hope you won't be penalized for her mistake. The moral of the story though is that, before your interview, go over the forms again and make sure you can answer the same things when asked
