Congrats. I think you was the one who was worry about Hep b vaccine because you did not include it in your medical RFE last week! if it's true, it is a good news for me, because I also sent my medical exam I-693 without hep B vaccine record last month!

@EB2-1 GC approved Aug 2022 I did my medical on June 22, 2022.

@Fri Mani ! yes that was me! I even called the civil surgeon TODAY to tell him that he made an error and that if USCIS would send another RFE he would need to amend it for free. Then later today my status changed. And it hadn’t changed in 2.7 years.

@Phuong ngu it wasn’t approved yet because I went to the interview alone with my VAWA package requesting to hold/transfer my I-485 to my VAWA, but when I applied for my gc through marriage I also applied for AP and EAD.

@Phuong Ngu yup that’s right. My I-485 was stuck on the same status since December 26, 2019. You have no idea how frustrating this was.. 2.7 years stuck on the same status 😭

@M Jay I reached out to my congresswoman in June and she let me know my case was transferred to my FO, otherwise I would have never known.

@nicolas pz She reached out to USCIS for me with all the information I gave her. I had also told her that I hadn’t received an update on my I-485 in over 2.7 yrs and that it was unacceptable. She then received a response on Aug 15 and let me know my case was at my local FO and I so happened to also have an info pass on Aug 19 at my local FO. When I went I showed the officer the response of my congresswoman and I also told him I reached out to the NY senate and ombudsman. The officer looked in his system and said: your case has been with an officer here for 5 days and it’s because you did all the work and reaching out your congresswoman, senate etc your case is already with an officer. That same day I came back from my info pass I received an email from my lawyer that she had gotten my medical RFE in the mail. I sent it 3 days later (Aug 22) and Aug 25 (yesterday) I got the notification that a new card is being produced. Pressure of people in ‘power’ really does help because it makes USCIS flag your case. The officer said: ‘if you didn’t do all this work you might have not gotten this far already.’

Thanks for all the detailed responses you gave to everyone on here, I think I’m going to need a congressman or senate office too because my PD for i485 is Jan 2017 and my VAWA got approved on April 2022, I switched to VAWA in 2020

@M Jay oh my god ! so you have the same situation as me! where are you based? please do reach out to congressman and senate because that’s unacceptable. @k.m .Did u file a new i-485 or they use your pending i-485 on marriage to approve your Green card based on Vawa. I mean the one you put on hold.

@Aji oye I kept my I-485 and they put it on hold until my VAWA was approved. No need to apply again for I-485 if you already have a pending one. That’s just more unnecessary work.

congratulations! 🎉 I had the same situation as you, I went to my marriage interview by myself to have my i485 held in abeyance then applied for i360. my VAWA has been approved in June but my i485 is also still stuck without any update since 2.6 years ago. I reached out to my congressperson's office and they got a response that my i485 is now with the local field office which is Queens. Do you have any advice on how I can push USCIS to give me a medical RFE or an interview scheduled? Do I need to go through the senator and the ombudsman as well?

@Lucia S omg wow such a similar case! and thank you so much ! you took all the necessary steps! If your case is already at the Queens FO it’s not going to take much longer. Have you received the I-693 deficiency letter? I reached out to the NY senate and they said they would get back to me with news when they had news, but it was my congresswoman who actually came through and ‘flagged’ my case.

@k m - Yeah I was reading you post and i was like "did i write this? 😂". yes I received the i693 deficiency notice about 2 weeks after my i360 got approved. how did you make the request to your congressperson for them to flag your case? I only sent an inquiry to ask where my case is now but I think that did not really "flag" it as it has been 22 days since I got the response and still no update.

@Lucia S haha too funny that we have such a similar case. I didn’t request to flag it, it automatically gets flagged when your congress person reaches out. I received the deficiency letter on June 22nd and received my RFE on Aug 19.. so don’t worry. These are all really good signs and your case is moving. I bet you, you’ll get a RFE in September and then it’s just a matter of days before you get approved. I would however get your medical done (since it’s now valid for 2yrs) so that you are ready when you get a RFE and can send it right away to avoid delays. I received it on Friday Aug, 19 and mailed it out on Monday Aug 22 and it arrived on Aug 23rd .. 3 days later: case approved!

also if I have a lawyer handling my case do I still need to contact my congressman/woman, mY lawyer recently pissed me off as it has been 3 months my vawa was approved, and I have been seeing on here that few weeks after vawa approval that people usually get the orange notice(medical deficiency) but I never got any update from my lawyer, so I called him to ask if we need to send VSC an Enquiry letter, that was when he deemed it fit to tell me that he have received the orange notice since first week in June, n I said oh I wasn't aware he got the notice, next thing he Said was if I feel he is not getting me the info I needed I can go somewhere else

@lala lala First they send you a privacy notice for you to sign so that you grant them acces to look into your case. Then you explain your situation and attach whatever documents you think are helpful. In my case I included my VAWA approval notice and old I-485 interview notice from back in 2019. This is all over email, nothing is in person. I called them first, then they emailed me with the privacy notice and then the ball got rolling… ;) you can join our approved VAWA group if you want support/have questions. I copied the link in a comment above.
