Though I was on USCIS about my case it took them 2 years , 3 months to send me a RFE. Now it's been 27 days since they recieved response for RFE and still waiting for something.
why is it taking this long for my petition. I'm USA citizen and filed for my spouse who lives in Pakistan.

I’m so sorry. my guess is background checks for Pakistan take longer than most countries.
27 days isn’t that long after RFE… hopefully it will be within the next month or so.
you are ourside of processing time so you can file an inquiry. or file mandamus which is expensive but works.

@Theresa Akhtar Wow that is a long time. As @w s 🇨🇦🇺🇸 mentioned, I would file a mandamus. I also agree that the background check could be taking a long time.

@ w s background check isn't done until after interview and before green card. I'm not spending $500 to sue USCIS. I just have to keep bothering g them or get another to bother them.
