so my insurance was under my husbands when my green card was processing. we notified Blue Cross my application was pending, sent marriage certificate and instead of SSI they use 000 000 000 in the meantime. you can get insurance without ssi

SSN sorry. I’m from Canada and there we have SIN numbers and I still get confused I didn’t have SSN and my hubby added me to his chase accounts without SSN (just marriage certificate required) and credits cards etc. They give you a year to produce your social security number. Same thing for health insurance. My husbands health insurance is through his work, he just put my Social security as 000000000, called them, explained we are married and they said no problem, just give them social security once we have. That was through Blue Cross Blue Sheild

it’s for my mom actually, I have asked my insurance agent and she said she can only have visitors insurance because she doesn’t have any green card yet, I have bought visitors insurance before and it was 500$ for 1 month that I have paid and doctors visit and medications is also not fully covered in it. I have paid for medications as well. she is old and diabetic and her medications are almost finished. I am worried.
