Still waiting on EAD after 4 months
Hi everyone,
I filed my Employment Authorization (I-765) along with I-485 and I-131 under a pending EB1-A (I-140) on March 31st, 2025. According to the USCIS website, 80% of EAD cases at the National Benefits Center (NBC) are completed within 3.5 months, but it’s been 4 months now and I haven’t received any updates.

It’s getting a bit frustrating seeing so many people receiving their EADs within a much shorter timeframe while mine seems stuck. I’m working with a lawyer, and he mentioned we’ll submit a case inquiry if there’s still no update by the inquiry date.
Is anyone else in a similar situation (same IOE range or similar timeline)? Would love to hear your experience or any thoughts on what might be causing delays.

@Andrew Azubyke @Ki Ku Lyn Do Yes I have read forums that if you existing work authorization, then it is deprioritized over those who need it to start work.
it’s possible that once case reaches field office for final adjudication, your i131 and 765 is the first thing they approve.

@amdsk a kinda, I’m on f-1 status, so I can work but only for the university I’m currently enrolled unless I request a CPT or OPT
