Petitioning for my Yemeni mother (Part 1)
Sharing my timeline if helpful to petition for my mother to immigrate in the US. This is post 1 of 4 describing the steps we took.
Phase 1 was filing I-130 with the USCIS.
Evidence submitted included:
- Scan of the naturalization certificate
- Evidence of Marriage or Divorce (if applicable to you)
- My birth certificate with English Certified Translation
- pdf document spelling my mother's name in Arabic
We submitted our application on 3/3/2020 and heard back within 8 months (Oct 5, 2020). Then, the case was passed on to NVC!
My second post will cover what we submitted for the second application and the third post will cover pre-interview and interview phase.
